Former President Maithripala Sirisena today hit back at Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage over claims he had made in Parliament.
Sirisena said that Aluthgamage had alleged he drank with Ministers when he was President and that he also combined three houses and made it one house for him to live in.
The former President denied the allegations and expressed regret that false claims had been made in Parliament.
Sirisena said that everybody knows he does not drink or smoke.
The former President also clarified that he is living in the house given to him by current Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.
He said that former Presidents are entitled to facilities given to Ministers.
Accordingly, he was given the house earlier occupied by Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.
Sirisena said that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and former President Chandrika Kumaratunga were also given houses in Colombo. (Colombo Gazette)
