The Government has decided not to appoint veteran actor Bandu Samarasinghe as the Consul General in Milan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Bandu Samarasinghe will not be appointed the Consul General in Milan.
Samarasinghe was to be appointed to the post following the death of musician Neela Wickremasinghe.
However, the move drew strong criticism, especially on social media. (Colombo Gazette)
