IUSF convener fears Parliament might be set on fire

Convener of the Inter University Students’ Federation (IUSF) Wasantha Mudalige has raised fears of Parliament being set on fire by the public angered over the appointment of Ranil Wickremesinghe as President.

Mudalige told reporters that the Galle Face protesters should not be blamed if Parliament is set on fire.

He said that Parliament had rejected the views of the public by appointing Ranil Wickremesinghe as President.

Mudalige said that peoples power ensured both Gotabaya Rajapaksa and Mahinda Rajapaksa were removed from office.

He said that peoples power will also ensure Ranil Wickremesinghe is forced top step down.

Mudalige also said that the Galle Face protesters have put forward a set of proposals and if the Government rejects those proposals then the response will come in the next 2-3 weeks. (Colombo Gazette)
