The International Monetary Fund (IMF) says Sri Lanka is on the path to receive the second tranche of funding as the country looks to complete its economic reforms agenda on schedule.
IMF Executive Director Dr. Krishnamurthy Subramanian said that the commitment will be a reason to assure further support to Sri Lanka, Sri Lanka’s Finance Ministry said.
Subramanian had mentioned this at a meeting held at the Ministry of Finance with State Minister of Finance Shehan Semasinghe.
The IMF Executive Director had mentioned that Sri Lanka has entered the path of receiving the second tranche of the International Monetary Fund by completing the reform agenda as scheduled.
The State Minister appreciated the support provided by the IMF and expressed optimism that approval will be received from the IMF Executive Board to disburse the second installment.
The State Minister said that the International Monetary Fund program will lead to a sustainable economy in the country including, debt sustainability once the debt restructuring resolution is agreed. (Colombo Gazette)
