Cabinet has approved a proposal to introduce the 21st Amendment to the Constitution.
The proposal looks to include positive features of the 19th and 20th Amendments.
The decision was taken when the new Cabinet met today.
The opposition Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) has already submitted a proposal for the 21st Amendment.
A group of independent MPs have also presented a proposal for the 21st Amendment to the Constitution.
The proposal seeks to extract key points from the 20th Amendment to the Constitution and the 19th Amendment and include them in the 21st Amendment. (Colombo Gazette)
