India held talks with dissident MPs of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) and reiterated India’s continued commitment to support Sri Lanka.
The Indian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka Gopal Baglay received a group of parliamentarians and reiterated India’s continued commitment to support Sri Lanka, the Indian High Commission in Colombo said.
The High Commission said that the Parliamentarians thanked the people of India for standing with the people of Sri Lanka.
They had shared with the High Commissioner their perspective on the current economic and political situation in Sri Lanka.
Earlier, the High Commissioner had also met cricketing legend Sanath Jayasuriya and hailed his many achievements for the sport and Sri Lanka.
The ace cricketer appreciated India’s support in the form of essential supplies, including medicines. (Colombo Gazette)
