Lawyers and civil society organisations staged a protest at Galle Face today.
The protesters walked towards the Presidential Secretariat but were blocked by the Police.
The Police closed the road by placing barricades and prevented the protesters from heading close to the Presidential Secretariat.
The protesters expressed outrage at the Police behaviour during a protest staged at Galle Face yesterday (Sunday).
The Police had sought a court order against today’s protest but were refused such an order. (Colombo Gazette)
