A Maximum Retail Price (MRP) has been imposed on eggs, the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA).
Accordingly, a white egg will now be sold at Rs. 44 and a brown egg Rs. 46.
The MRP has been imposed after eggs were sold at a high price in the market.
The Government was also looking at importing eggs to meet the local demand. (Colombo Gazette)
