Puttalam District Parliamentarian Ali Sabri Raheem was arrested with gold at the Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA).
The MP was detained by customs officers with gold which he had not declared.
According to reports, the MP had in his possession 3.5kg of gold.
He was detained after returning from an overseas visit.
The incident was also discussed in Parliament today. (Colombo Gazette)
