President Gotabaya Rajapaksa had talks with Finance Minister Ali Sabry today ahead of key discussions set to take place between Sri Lanka and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The President’s office said that Rajapaksa had several rounds of discussions today.
One such meeting was with Finance Minister Ali Sabry, Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, State Minister Shehan Semasinghe, Secretary to the President Gamini Senarath, Principal Advisor to the President Lalith Weeratunga and Secretary to the Ministry of Finance K.M.M. Siriwardene.
Another discussion was held with officials from the Ministries of Finance, Energy and Health.
Finance Minister Ali Sabry is to lead a delegation to Washington for talks with the IMF.
Sri Lanka is to seek a bailout package from the IMF to help resolve its current economic crisis. (Colombo Gazette)
